LEED Certification – Multi-Family Apartment Building – Adapt’s is currently providing consulting services to attain LEED-EB Certification of an existing multifamily apartment building in NW Portland. Recent work has included the research, specification, permitting and oversight for the replacement of 126 single pane windows with high efficiency double-glazed windows as well as the installation of blow-in cellulose insulation in the building’s attic space. Adapt personnel are managing all aspects of the proposed LEED certification process as well as the preparation and oversight of all cash and tax-incentive applications with the Energy Trust and Oregon Department of Energy.
Sustainable Design – Historic Firehouse Renovation – Adapt is providing technical support in the restoration of an abandoned historic firehouse in Portland. The project’s intent is to restore the abandoned structure for use by a non-profit organization to mentor and support emerging “green” building companies. As such, Adapt personnel are working with other Sustainable Building Design professionals to develop the firehouse into a showcase example of sustainable design.
