The Snohomish County PUD is exploring for geothermal deposits that may one day power 35,000 homes. Funded in part by Department of Energy stimulus money, five test wells are being drilled in the Cascade Range. While the Pacific Northwest has enjoyed relatively inexpensive energy in the past from sources such as hyrdropower, higher prices and funding for renewables could unlock geothermal energy potential.

(SNOPUD) is spending $350,000 to drill five test holes. The desired 50?MW plant will cost between $150 million and $200 million. The plant would likely be built in 10?MW phases with the first potentially completed by 2016 (GEA, 2010).

Though Adapt Engineering has been minority owned since its inception, the official process had never been undertaken.

Seattle, WA

Though Adapt Engineering has been minority owned since its inception, the official process had never been undertaken. Those that have already gone down that road realize what a time consuming path it can be, and will certainly empathize with the desire to keep it eternally on the back burner! However, with the changing marketplace, and at the request of key clients,

Adapt finally completed the process in July of this year. With the torch being passed to the Portland office for coordination, as well as guidance provided by the NW Minority Supplier Diversity Council, the minority certification has been achieved! Adapt is looking forward to relationships aimed at strengthening the disadvantaged community, and has made a commitment to participate on both a local and regional level with groups supporting this vision
